Tyra Lynne Banks is an American actress and model, also known by her short name Tyra Banks. She is also a producer, businesswoman, singer, and author. She was born in Inglewood, California, United States on December 4, 1973. Banks is the daughter of a computer consultant father Donald Banks, and a former medical photographer mother Caroline London. She has an older brother Devin Banks. Her parents divorced when she was six years old. She attended John Burroughs Middle School, and then she completed her graduation from Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles. Tyra also studied at Claremont McKenna College, and Loyola Marymount College. She also educated at Harvard Business School.
Banks well known for her modeling work for lingerie company Victoria’s Secret, and magazine Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She started her acting career with Jackie Ames’s role on the television show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1993, and she made debut her film career with Deja’s role in the movie Higher Learning in 1995. She also worked as a host on her own television show The Tyra Banks Show from 2005 to 2010, and she also played Eve’s role in the television films Life-Size and Life-Size 2.
Tyra began a relationship with Basketball player Chris Webber in 2001, and the couple separated in 2004. She also dated actor Will Smith for a short time from 1993 to 1994. After that, She started dating to Basketball player Giancarlo Marcaccini in 2005 and they split in 2006. Later, she started dating American investment banker John Utendahl in 2007 and the duo split in 2011. Tyra had been in relationships with Erik Asla from 2013 to 2017. Banks gave birth to her son York Banks-Asla via surrogacy, on January 27, 2016.
