Julie Bowen is an American actress, also known by her full name Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, United States on March 3, 1970. She is the daughter of father John Alexander Luetkemeyer Jr., a commercial real estate developer, and mother Suzanne Frey. Bowen has an older sister Molly Luetkemeyer, an interior designer in Los Angeles, while her younger sister Annie Luetkemeyer, a doctor in San Francisco. She studied at Calvert School in Baltimore and then she went to Garrison Forest School. Julie also attended Roland Park Country School and then she joined St. George’s School. She also enrolled at Brown University.
Bowen began a relationship with actor David Spade in September 2002 and they split in 2003. Later, she started dating to a software developer and a real estate investor Scott Phillips in 2004, and the couple got married on September 9, 2004. She gave birth to her first child a son Oliver McLanahan Phillips on April 10, 2007, and then they welcomed twin sons John Phillips and Gustav Phillips on May 8, 2009. In February 2018, Julie applied for a divorce from Scott.

Bowen starred as Sarah Shephard in the television series Lost from 2005 to 2007, and she portrayed Denise Bauer’s role in the television series Boston Legal from 2005 to 2008.
