Barbara Eden is an American actress and singer, who was born in Tucson, Arizona, United States on August 23, 1931, as Barbara Jean Morehead. Her mother is Alice Mary Franklin and her father Hubert Henry Morehead. She and her mother moved to San Francisco, after her parent’s divorce. Where her mother married a telephone lineman Harrison Connor Huffman. Edan has a younger half-sister Alison Scanlon from her mother’s second marriage.
Eden got married to voice actor Michael Ansara on January 17, 1958, and she gave birth to her first child as son Matthew Ansara on August 29, 1965. The couple divorced in 1974. Then, she married Charles Fegert on September 3, 1977, and they divorced in 1982. After that, she got married to architect Jon Eicholtz on January 5, 1991.
Barbara firstly gained fame for Jeannie Jeannie II’s role in the television series I Dream of Jeannie from 1965 to 1970, and she also famous for her role as Lt. Cathy Connors on the film Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in 1961. She began her career as a singer with local bands at the age of fourteen for $10 a night in local night clubs. She began her acting career with Blonde College Girl’s role in the film Back from Eternity in 1956, and she made debut her career on television with Herself on the television series The Johnny Carson Show in 1956. Eden also starred as Stella Johnson in the film Harper Valley PTA in 1978.
